      Abstract: The aim of this study was to identify the level of emotional intelligence, then to identify the level of psychological well-being, in the research sample, while finding the nature of the relationship between emotional intelligence and psychological well-being, and determining the difference between the level of emotional intelligence and psychological well-being according to the demographic varibles (gender, age, job status). As well as finding the expected value of emotional intelligence to the presence of psychological well-being. In this research, the researcher relied on the quantitative descriptive approach, and used the questionnaire as a tool for data collection, and the questionnaire was distributed to (400) employees, (202) male and (198) female employees, who were aged between (23-54) years, were randomly cluster selected, in government departments in the district of the Soran Independent Administration Center, using the emotional intelligence scale that was prepared by the researcher, and to measure psychological well-being relied on the Ryff scale, 1989), and to achieve the results. Statistical package for the social sciences known as (SPSS) was used.The results of the research showed that the research sample has a high level of emotional intelligence, and has a low level of psychological well-being, as well as there is a positive relationship between emotional intelligence and psychological well-being. However, there is no statistically significant difference in the level of emotional intelligence according to gender and age. It was different according to the grade of the employee and the manager in favor of the managers. While there was a statistically significant difference in the level of psychological well-being according to the difference in sex in favor of the female. The level of well-being of managers was greater than that of employees. The difference in the level of well-being was in favor of young ages (23-30) years. At the same time there was emotional intelligence of the expected value statistically significant for psychological well-being. In conclusion, the researcher presented a set of recommendations and suggestions according to the results of the research.
